Y vuelven a surgir

Mariposas
campos de mariposas,
y en los ojos,
burbujas y peces.
Despiden las puntas de mis dedos
cintas encaracoladas,
coloridas, radiantes
en canción.
Llevo la cabeza
en las nubes
flotando inspirada.
Con esto no me basta.
Y vuelve a nacer
una sonrisa misteriosa,
ambiciosa, con fe en lo infinito.
Y así
me desbordo.

Songs and Bubbles
I found a new drug,
I call it guitar,
I'm lovin' to play and to play.
And with my guitar
I forget the tick-tock,
So I haven't worked in 4 days.
My fingers are tense,
My back really aches,
But, Oh!, I am having such fun.
But deadlines await,
I must put you away,
And leave you 'til all the work's done.
Tomorrow I'll wake,
And roll out of bed,
Stare blankly at papers and stuff.
And then I will say,
"Oh, fuck it. Who cares?"
And strum all the day til it's gone.:)

Auguro
Miento (se desborda sobre las encías).
No es mío. No descansa la cabeza
entre mis piernas, ni lee ni se encierra
en la palma de mi mano.
Hoy se enrosca en qué nido frío,
en qué viento se ha ido mi pájaro;
y yo mojando el pico para no morir de sed,
desvanezco cada vez más
con el veneno que emanan sus plumas.

Remembering Silly Me : Cinco
When I was a child, I used to play pretend a lot. One of my favorite games was called “Indiana Joanna.” In said game I would attempt to get across the entire house without touching the floor by jumping from one piece of furniture to another (whilst unsupervised) because there was a river of lava flowing just under my feet. I faced perilous obstacles but always escaped by the skin of my teeth with treasure in hand.
This was not a game I played with others.
I also loved to play pretend with other children, however. My best friend at the time and I had an impressive eraser collection. It came to a point where we had about 40 erasers in different shapes, colors, and sizes: hearts, rainbows, Christmas themed ones, triangles, Sanrio characters, Lion brand ones… You name it, we had it. I can’t say I remember what we made our erasers do, but they surely provided hours of amusement.
The pretend games I played with my sister and cousins were a bit bizarre. One was called “The Sacrifice,” others involved lost children in their struggle to survive and an imaginary planet, and another game has yet to end--as it turns out, it wasn't really a game.
I also loved, loved, loved my Barbies. They were naughty when nobody was looking. And Polly Pocket was a big fad, too. In fourth grade all the girls would bring in their Polly Pockets and we’d build a giant Polly Pocket city in the classroom. (Polly Pocket was a huge choke hazard for younger children.)
By the time I got to sixth grade, I didn’t play as much with girls (not that I can remember, anyway). This was probably because they had mini-boobs. I didn’t. I think I spent many a recess inside the classroom with the boys watching the Star Wars saga and debating whether Sega was better than Super Nintendo. (Super Nintendo is obviously the better choice.) Then the boys left. After that, I didn’t really play anymore.
...
As a child, I also tried to develop telekinetic abilities. I still try it sometimes.
